August 1964: The civil strife on Cyprus was at its most violent, and Greece and Turkey were on the brink of war. The conflict could spell the beginning of the end for the Western defence pact of N.A.T.O. When the rumour of a plot to speed this possibility reached Counter-espionage in Whitehall, Simon Larren and Adrian Cleyton were despatched to Turkey.
