(2015)
A collection of stories by

One city ... 3 items ... 15 short stories, all in one book.

Canberran author Sean Costello set himself a challenge to write a short fictional story each week based on three items requested by social media users. As an unabashed fan of Canberra, the only condition was that he would set the story in his home town.

The result is an eclectic mix of short stories featuring weird and wonderful items like shoeless zombies, unicorns and cryptography. It also includes some of Canberra's hidden wonders, such as Manuka Oval, the near-forgotten Starlight Drive-in cinema, and the concrete jungle of 1990s Woden Plaza.

Sean's stories provide a wonderful lens through which to view one of Australia's most misunderstood cities. A number explore themes of particular interest to many Canberrans, such as the plight of asylum seekers and what might drive a public servant to leak sensitive information, whole others offer a satirical examination of Canberra's coffee, hipster and public service cultures. Whatever your interest, Capital Yarns the book has it covered.
