I read this book over again once every year or two and I always enjoy it. Its the story of a young boy sent from England to Canada by himself to live with his father. When he arrives his father has died, and it can't be traced who sent him. The newspaper makes a big writeup about him and a couple take him in to live with them til his family can be traced (by the newspaper). He has many experiences growing up in Balfour Canada at the beginning of the 19 hundreds and the author does a terrific job telling the story.
