The Wine-dark Opal

American ghost writer Roberta Fisher is employed by Sybille Halloway, a glamorous but faded Hollywood star. In lieu of payment Sybille gives Roberta an opal ring. Although it is beautiful, Roberta is aware that superstition says opals are unlucky. A frightening sequence of events then follows.
