When Con sees a photograph of Weerdwood, a mansion house in North-East Scotland, she begins to dream vividly - dreams of summer and a house full of music and laughter. But arriving in March for a working holiday. Con finds Weerdwood deeply sinister. She encounters a phantom deerhound - then a sealed room is opened and a terrifying spectre appears. Why does the spectre look so like Con's new friend Grace? Why is the deerhound so lonely and sad? Together, Con and her old enemy Jake must solve the mystery. But with the past repeating itself and Grace in great danger, time is perilously short.
