She couldn't save his life. Can she save his soul?

Werewolf by birth and dancer by choice, Joey is a force to be reckoned with on and off the dance floor. Relentless in the pursuit of perfection, she never does anything halfway. Fortunately, Chris - her partner and packmate - keeps her from taking herself too seriously. When he's murdered, her carefully ordered life is thrown into chaos. Grief-stricken and unable to turn to the police, Joey must rely on her own wits, fortitude, and connections to track down the killer before another wolf dies. But when she discovers Chris's spirit is being held hostage by a ruthless fanatic, the whole situation goes from bad to worse. Can she foil the killer's nefarious scheme and set Chris free, or will he be trapped between this world and the next forever? A Turn for the Worse introduces a new breed of werewolf in an edge-of-your-seat adventure chocked full of surprising twists, complex emotions, and a diverse cast of characters. If you like strong, independent women, nail-biting mysteries, a generous dose of the supernatural, and convention-defying tales, you'll love this book!

Author Q&A:

What was the most challenging part of writing this book?Revisions. I spent way more time revising this book than I did writing it, and it was a real challenge. Some authors toil over their manuscripts for years in the pursuit of perfection. That's not me, haha! Somewhere around the third editing pass, I reached the point where I was just over it. I made myself keep going until it was truly finished and I'm extremely proud of the results, but it was a real slog at times. I learned a lot along the way, so next time it should go more smoothly. (Knock on wood.)What made you decide to make lycanthropy genetic, rather than transmitted via bite?I knew from the start I wanted to make my wolves different from conventional werewolves, and lycanthropy being genetic is just one of the many ways that they are. I really wanted to explore the idea of a pack as a family unit rather than a collection of characters thrown together based on geography. That's not to say there are no non-nuclear packs in my world. You'll meet one in book 2. There's still a lot to explore and learn about my wolves. How did you come up with the title? That took me quite a while, actually. I was really stumped at first. I knew I wanted a tie-in to dancing, but I didn't want it to be too obvious at a glance. I wrote down all sorts of dance-related terms and ideas/themes for the book, then started fiddling around with them until something clicked. "A Turn for the Worse" was supposed to be a working title, but by the end it suited the book rather well so I decided to keep it.Speaking of dancing, what possessed you to write a series about ballroom dancing werewolves?I've been a big fan of stories involving dance, ballroom in particular, for a long time. I guess I can date myself and reveal that it all started with "Dirty Dancing," but I'm a sucker for dancing movies and dance competition shows in general. (Yes, I watch "Dancing With The Stars." #TeamWhitney) This book isn't about dance in the way a dance movie or show is, but it's central to some pretty key scenes and themes. As for why I decided to pair dancing with werewolves... why not? It's different, it's unexpected, and starting out with a protagonist whose strengths aren't purely martial or magical is rife with storytelling potential.
