Retired Ottawa police inspector Mike Reilly’s new life in Key West is all smooth sailing. Then he gets a call from his estranged father Seamus, who has gotten himself into a desperate situation and asks for Mike’s help, something he’s never done in his life.
We’re all just one bad choice away from disaster. For Seamus, that moment begins in the Florida city of Largo, when his much younger lover tries to outrun a Maserati, leading to a crash that seriously injures the other driver.
Seamus and his lady friend are on the run from the police and the woman’s angry husband, who is determined to get vengeance for the damage done to his trophy wife.
The last thing Mike wants is to take on his father’s troubles, but what else can a son do?
