THE VERY LAST PLACE SHE WANTED TO GO WAS HOME

Nobody talks about the downside of Witchcraft. Samara Kane’s experience with its drawbacks thirty years ago was so bad, she put an ocean between herself and Harmony Grove.

Since then, Samara has lived a charmed life as a Witch in Spain, raising her daughter Sage all on her own. The only time she uses magic is to pay the bills. How? Well, she ‘visits’ casinos along the Mediterranean. Unfortunately, each time she scores, the Universe gives her a spanking. She can live with that— it’s just the cost of doing business, and her villa is awesome!

It’s all been fine and dandy until she’s compelled to return to Harmony Grove. Her beloved Nana is dying. Nana was the only source of unconditional love Samara had growing up. And love conquers fear.

Samara’s hardly arrived when she’s dragged into the middle of the 300-year-old rivalry between the founding families. Two clans, the Kanes and the Fosters grudgingly share stewardship over the source of their magic, a mystical stream. These days Harmony Grove has about as much harmony as fingernails on a chalkboard.

Her only source of comfort in this maelstrom is her familiar, Max The Cat. She’s got a history with the feisty feline. Yeah, it’s complicated; you have nooo idea. Too bad her daughter Sage can’t stand the fleabag cat. Too bad Sage also has nooo idea...

Maybe, just maybe Samara can actually come to terms with her past. With Nana’s help, she starts to reconnect with people she hasn’t seen in three decades. There’s townspeople, both magical and normal folk, a variety of cousins, and believe it or not, her estranged mother. Forget about spells, patching things up with her mother Sybil is going to take a miracle.

But it’s not all uncomfortable and awkward reunions. Add an old flame from her high-school days into the mix. Raylan Foster’s just as attractive; he’s also
just as attracted to Sam as he was back in the day. Hmmm...maybe being fifty isn’t so bad. Maybe.
Maybe not.
Just when things start to come together, they crumble. Well, shatter actually. In a deadly way.
As in a murder.
And Samara’s the prime suspect.
She escaped Harmony Grove 30 years ago. She should have stayed away, because there’s no getting out of this one.
If you’ve ever been on the outs with your Mom, adored your Nana, or have a daughter who drives you up the wall, you’ll totally get Samara’s odyssey back home. Bring some tissues for sure, but also get ready to laugh out loud!
