Verne Hallam is heading for Oregon on the Overland Trail when, near Boise City, Idaho, he interrupts a holdup of the Overland Stage. Among the rescued passengers are Nan Stanley, en route to Boise City where her two brothers plan to start a cattle spread, and Lois Lindsay, a wealthy young widow who is about to marry a mining engineer named Wade Canby.
