A Story by

Shawn Burke, a retired television actor who portrayed detective Quentin Mars for twelve years, has opened his own theater in the Berkshire Hills, where he plans to showcase new writers and actors. His first summer is a success despite a murder early in the season. However, now that the Fall has come, many previous members of his audience are demanding that he put on a new production, which he had not intended.
Rushing to mount a new show, he hires Jim and Connie Wicket to perform their two-person play. They arrive with several friends, and Shawn agrees to let them all stay in his large house. However, when one of the friends ends up dead on stage, Shawn discovers that if he doesn't use his Quentin Mars' skills to discover the identity of the killer, he may have to cancel his new production and lose a large amount of money. As Shawn begins his investigation, he finds deception and danger at every turn until it appears that he may lose his theater - or even possibly his life.
