A pamphlet supporting the defendants in the Sleepy Lagoon case. In this case, seventeen Mexican Americans were convicted of the murder of Jose Diaz. The case was fraught with racism and generated considerable outrage in the Los Angeles area. Many prominent citizens, including a number of prominent Hollywood figures, helped form the Sleepy Lagoon Defense Committee which succeeded in over turning the convictions.
