DEATH IN THE STACKSOn an isolated Friday night, St. Jude University’s monolithic four-story library is supposed to empty out for the weekend. But when an unexpected campus-wide grid failure plunges the limestone building into total darkness, the high-tech magnetic security gates slam shut—locking nine college friends inside the cavernous maze of bookstacks, archives, and the darkened ground-floor café.

They think it’s an inconvenience. They raid the coffee shop’s pastry displays, crack jokes in the gloom, and turn the after-hours lockdown into an impromptu party.

They have no idea that before the doors sealed, someone else was already inside.

A masked predator lurks in the shadows of the mezzanine, armed with hunting steel, distorted intercom broadcasts, and a twisted set of horror-movie rules. One by one, the students are hunted through narrow catalog aisles, secluded study carrels, and subterranean maintenance tunnels.

For Klarity Mcleamen—sharp-tongued, silver-eyed, and armed with a morbid sense of humor—survival means leaning on Thayer Treadington, the brooding, 22-year-old varsity defensive end who rarely speaks to anyone else but worships the ground she walks on. As blood spatters the vintage paper and their friends are systematically butchered, terror sparks a feral, uninhibited hunger between Klarity and Thayer. To survive the night, they must decode the killer’s sick game, uncover a trail of stolen secrets, and butcher the monster before dawn.

This novel contains graphic fictional violence, gruesome murder scenes, blood, dismemberment, explicit consensual adult sexuality, coarse language, psychological suspense and school violence. All sexual encounters are between consenting adults (18+). Reader discretion is strongly advised.
