Staring into the Darkness is a Hollywood noir thriller set in 1948 Los Angeles. Determined to find out who murdered her younger sister - Annie, Katie Brazil sells the farm in Kettle River after her father's death, buys a one-way ticket on a Greyhound bus and makes her way to Los Angeles. Detective Erik Urban who was in charge of the case has been on sick leave with exhaustion for six months, so she goes to see Sergeant Mike O'Meara, who's now in charge of the investigation. He refuses to tell her anything, so she goes to find Detective Urban. After living and sleeping in the corridor outside Urban's apartment for eleven days, he finally opens the door. What she finds is a man close to death. Before she can find Annie's killer, she must save Urban's life.
