"This is one of my favorite historical romances I've ever read. Without giving any more away than the blurb already does, the "scheme" cooked up by the hero makes it appear to the heroine that he is her enemy. This makes for some deliciously steamy tension between the two. The plot also involves a lot of brave heroics (our heroine is pretty bad-ass), action, and adventure, which makes romances all the more exciting in my opinion. I think this novel is why I'm partial to historicals set during the Revolutionary War (I first read it as a teenager). I've read this many times.
