The Slum Daughter's Christmas
(2026)(A book in the Snow on the Cobbles - Victorian Christmas Stories series)
A novel by Hattie Finch
A rags to riches Christmas story set in Victorian England.
A chance encounter in a snow-filled alley brought them together, but for Clara and Tommy, that was just the beginning.
Clara lives with her parents and her ailing sister, scraping together enough to live day to day and have a little something at Christmas. Hurrying home, late one December evening, she meets a man in need and a boy who helps them both.
As winter closes in around the city, Clara does what she must to keep her family safe, not knowing the seeds of her future have already been sown.
Tommy has nothing but his pride and his word, and he knows neither count for much when everybody he loves is hungry. On a dark December night, just before Christmas, he meets Clara, and his life is changed forever.
Can Tommy and Clara’s love survive the hardships of Victorian London? Will they ever find their destiny when there are others who would take their futures for themselves?
The Slum Daughter’s Christmas is a classic Hattie Finch yuletide tale, covering her ever-present London streets with a layer of snow that never quite blankets the hardships of life in Victorian England.
Genre: Sagas
