“I’m going to kill you,” I promised.
“Keep saying that, my little Venatrix,” Mojin urged. “I enjoy the sound of fury on your lips.”
I attacked with daggers and fists. Swinging a baseball bat when I could. Still they caught every blow. Worse, they pulled me closer, taking me into a place I couldn’t escape. A place that pulsed with Unseelie green. A world of the Fae. Where I lost myself.
And found them.
But something is crawling from their Unseelie realm into ours. Something powerful, and it’s bringing with it terrifying creatures of the dark. Beasts, the Unseelie call them. Our city is under siege from these infernal creatures. It’s up to us to defend it. All of us. Vampires. Wolves. Fae.
And now me.
I had the rest of my life planned out, what little there was left of it anyway. Find those responsible for my brother’s death and seek revenge. But the longer I stay with these Fae the more I realize the truth. Maybe we’re all monsters…deep inside.
