Robert Jones lived his life quietly, content to fade into the background of his boisterous family and spend his days working as a blacksmith. He’d prefer to mind his own business, at least where anyone but kin was concerned.

Katherine Jenkins gave up any dreams of an easy or idyllic life when her parents passed, and she fought to raise her little brother Jeremiah.

One morning, as Katherine works her fingers to the bone to provide for herself and her brother, a mistake on his part sends them on the run from Dallas and they find themselves stowaways on a train of unknown destination. That is, until a tall, handsome blacksmith discovers them on the train and offers to help them. Katherine fights her growing feelings even as Robert gives into his, but the secrets between them prove a shaky foundation for a budding relationship. When those secrets come to light and their past catches up to them, will Robert be able to help Katherine and her brother before it’s too late, or will they be forced to run again?
