First conceived in 1972, the Transglobe expedition set sail from Greenwich crewed by volunteers and led by Ranulph Fiennes. Their 100,000 mile journey, described in this book, took them across the Sahara, through Mali, over crevasse fields in Antarctica, and into the hazards of the Arctic Ocean.
