Time-hopping serial killer executioner Kevin now finds himself in the crosshairs of San Francisco’s notorious Zodiac killer. Stuck in 1972 for this assignment, Kevin enlists the help of Detective Sarah Barlow and clever high school senior Joey in tracking down the Zodiac.
But as Kevin and his friends investigate further, the Zodiac leaves them a series of increasingly disturbing threats that lead to bloodshed. All the while, the elusive killer manages to stay one step ahead of them while watching their every move. Throughout the chase, Kevin finds himself not just worried for himself but also Sarah who he realizes he’s developing feelings for.
Things become even more intense once local police start connecting Kevin to several deaths in the city. And as Kevin’s bosses at The Retroactive Project make their own threats about abandoning him if he doesn’t finish the assignment sooner, Kevin finds himself in a race against time to stop both the Zodiac killer and make it back safely to his proper home in 2040.
