A world divided by spatial barriers. A family caught in the crossfire of realm-spanning war.

Kaden''s worlds are colliding. The Elves of Beverly have pushed his Mother Jane through the barrier leading from the life he has in Beverly to the strongholds his alter ego Terrik Qual reigns. When Kaden plunges beyond the barrier into the stone stronghold of Northerin to rescue his mother, he learns firsthand how dangerously time shifts across realms. That is just one problem, Prince Kaden still has to deal with the upcoming war.

A hostile coalition of Beverlian Elves, Farian revolutionaries, and mercenary armies from the City-States has massed at the border. Their target: access to Cell 38—the mysterious portal they believe grants essence magic. With Elmland's forces heavily outnumbered and army reinforcements weeks away, Kaden’s father King Uriah must navigate a treacherous game of diplomacy, ultimatums, and tactical standoffs to protect his people.

As Terrik Qual, Kaden has other difficulties. In addition to recusing his Mother Jane and figuring out a way to get her back through the barrier, the Hand, a ruthless gang led by a powerful Adventurer named Rancher threatens the lives of everyone in Middleswood and has made it a mission to go after Terrik Qual’s family. Terrik’s family aren't the only ones in danger.

The Happy Place, the stronghold led by Terrik’s friend Bakeneko has been taken over by a coalition of dwarves and a minotaur. They defeated the Happy Place defenders and have been laying in wait to get at Terrik Qual. They know that Terrik is the Gift Giver and they want their own magic and are willing to kill to get it.

Operating across three distinct identities—Prince Kaden of Elmland, the stoic blacksmith Terrik Qual navigating gang wars in Middleswood, and the warrior Ashborn taking contracts in both places—Kaden must leverage every gift he possesses. From dealing with ruthless gang leaders like Rancher to forging alliances with the secretive dwarves of Bluefold for elite mithril gear, Kaden will stop at nothing to safeguard his family and defend his realm.
