Crystal Ward is fresh from winning the junior year tournament and almost being killed fighting dragons in the Downian War. Her fame from both actions have brought her to the notice of nobles all over Kirby including Queen Mildred herself. Russell Golad, the hulking handsome future Duke has his eyes on her but has done everything wrong to properly court her. His rival, Jonathan the Lighting is a skinny commoner with no where near the pedigree that has been doing everything the right way. Crystal doesn't have much time to think on either of them as a mysterious new illness has started sweeping through the Kingdom and killing mages by the dozens. Crystal alone has figured out a way to fight this plague but she is only person. If that wasn't enough for her to worry about, the girls in the Tower still hate her and the boys in the Tower still call her names both behind her back and to her face.
