Tio Ramon's family owned sugar mills in Cuba until the Revolution, when Castro confiscated them and the family fled to America. Now Spaniards are interested in buying the mill land and have offered Ramon and his nephew, Alexander, money to renounce their property rights. Though Ramon refuses to abandon the past, Alexander wants the cash-a disagreement that ends in Alexander's disappearance. Ramon wants Lupe to find his nephew, but before she can begin, Alexander is found-murdered. Now it's up to Lupe to save not only Papi's friend, but her own life as well.
