"A final confrontation results in a surprising conclusion. Great story." - SFRevu on Scienceville.
"A master of core sf" The Guardian.

Joel has spent the last five years building maps of an imaginary city to deal with his grief. Or at least he thinks it's imaginary, until someone writes to tell him they used to live there. To Joel, it's just a hobby - a way to blank his mind until he figures out how to move forward with his life.

But then another letter arrives, from another person making the same claim, and events take an increasingly strange - and dark - turn.

Scienceville was first published in Interzone magazine and is taken from Gary Gibson's short story collection SCIENCEVILLE AND OTHER LOST WORLDS. Since 2004, he's written nearly a dozen hard sf and space opera novels including the acclaimed STEALING LIGHT, EXTINCTION GAME, and FINAL DAYS.
