Bruce Marshall, a young mining engineer working in South America, decides to return to England to play his part in the war. The Captain of a small British tramp steamer agrees to take him, and so he sets sail with a few other passengers, one of whom is Denise, a French girl. But the boat is attacked by a German raider, and the small party becomes involved in a series of thrilling adventures, in which courage, love and loyalty play their respective parts.
