When the remnants of the defeated Confederate Army made their way slowly south from the battlefields, Dave Kelsey turned his eyes towards Virginia, to the home he had left four long years before. But he found the ranch-house a burnt-out shell, and all his family dead, killed by men just as eager to kill him in turn.
