Lucy Latzer is a single mom just trying to keep her head above water. When her husband died two years ago, part of her died along with him. Now she’s decided that it’s finally time for her to move on. Her first step is finding a date to her best friend’s wedding.

Noah Hansen thought he had only one love … football. Until he bumps into Lucy. He recognizes her immediately. She was his camp counselor and first adolescent crush. Back when he was thirteen, he made the mistake of trying to kiss her. When she rejected him, he developed a bad case of anxiety which causes nausea and vomiting. Now, every time he sees her his anxiety takes over. It’s hard to turn on the charm when he’s puking in the hedge rose.

When Lucy meets Noah, she has no idea who he is. He seems nice and he might be handsome if his face wasn’t green. When she does figure out who he is, her heart goes out to him. She finds a way to make him feel comfortable around her.

When these two finally get together, it proves that all is fair in love and football and letting go of the past is just the beginning.
