This is written by Kenneth Grahame and illustrated by Ernest H. Shepard. It is a hardback in Very Good condition and includes the original dust jacket which is near perfect, (small tear/fold at top front). It came from Powell's Books in Portland, OR. and marked as a collectable when purchased 10 years ago. Bertie is a pig,whose motto is "Deeds, not grunts." One night he and his friends go Christmas Caroling at Mr. Sone's. They go because they anticipate he will invite them in to enjoy supper. This is the story of Bertie and his friends Escapade that night and all their misadventures. It is a lovely book written for children Ages 5-9.
