Divine Favor

(Book 18 in the Rules Free VRMMO Life series)
A Novella by

The Grand Crusade of the Righteous, and their puppet-state, the Theocracy of Ograin, have attacked the church of Sharess. While the actions of the most powerful good-aligned alliance of guilds in Age of Anarchy Online may be outside the scope of what most players would be willing to interfere with, Zayn Darkmore is the leader of the top-rated dark side guild and the premiere dark alliance in the game. Also, he's the Chosen of Sharess, so he should probably go and respond to that.

Some would argue that helping Malcanthet, Demon Queen of the Succubi, to become Demon Goddess of the Succubi at the expense of the Goddess Sezphy would be damage enough. But, well, proportional responses have never been Zayn's thing. He wants to make sure that they get the message loud and clear that some things aren't going to be tolerated.

Unfortunately, his recent actions have drawn a lot of divine attention, and not all of it good. With the certainty that there will be gods moving against him, Zayn needs to find a way to get some divine favor of his own, and not just from the goddesses who already like him. Because a mortal fighting a god in a fair fight is a losing proposition. And if there is one thing Zayn Darkmore hates, it is losing.

Author's Note: If you haven't guessed, there's going to be all kinds of nastiness in this story. Violence, language, racism, sexism, sex, gore, vore, and more! If you have triggers of any kind, this is your warning. If you're looking for a nice, heartwarming tale like Sword Art Online, keep looking. There will be 'good guys' as well, but this is a story where Might IS Right. However, if you've read Watchmen and Wanted, and like what you read (READ, not the movies!), then you just may find this story in your strike zone. And for f*ck's sake, this is just a story! Don't take this as an endorsement of any of the actions in this story.
