Patrik Conroy has just been dragged through a portal into a magical, video game-like universe. Apparently, some wizard thinks he's destined to save the world.
There's just one problem.
The wizard didn't live long enough to tell him what he needed to save it from. Or that the resident giant spiders were friendly and just looking for a hug. Now the spiders are dead, the local villagers have lost their only source of income, and Patrik needs to pretend he doesn't know how all this happened.
Okay, there's two problems.
Second is that Patrik is no hero. And not in a 'reluctant hero still becomes a hero' kind of way. Nope. More in the 'hipster who thinks he knows everything but actually knows nothing' kind of way.
Things are about to go very, very wrong.
