After being tasked by my boss with interviewing the most influential professionals in New York City, I’m left with one last interviewee: Dr. Trey Miller. I quickly find that as one of the world’s leading cardiac surgeons, Dr. Miller is incredibly difficult to nail down. Left with no other option, I do the unthinkable . . . I hijack his date. Over the course of a single, romantic meal, I learn that Trey Miller isn’t anything like the man I thought he was. Now, I’m wondering if the good doctor has room enough for love in his life, or if he’ll leave me with a finished article and a broken heart.

When I agreed to this blind date to get my mother off my back, I’d assumed I could muddle through sharing a meal with a stranger for a couple of hours, then return to the office. I never expected to meet a beautiful woman whose company would distract me from the work that has dominated my life . . . or to learn that she’s a liar. Mandy isn’t at all who she pretended to be, but despite our rocky beginning, I’m drawn to her. I soon realize that the things I’d always thought made me the man I am, might not be so important after all.
