(1977)
A novel by

Janet deMaury's assignment was to write her famous father's biography. But she had to travel to Tenton Hall in England where her father's papers were stored by the hostile husband of Janet's late cousin. She is made to feel that those papers, relics of a utopian group that had flourished before and after World War II must hold some secret. Janet receives a mysterious note telling her to leave for her own safety. Her dog disappears, and she suffers a strange accident. But she continues to organize the papers and starts to piece together a much different father than the one of her memories plus the man with whom she is in love is hiding a fact that could destroy him.
