Wizard Scouts are the elite recon forces of the Intergalactic Empire. Equipped with advanced technology gear combined with psionic-like abilities, they are the greatest fighting force the galaxy has ever seen.
For reasons beyond his ken, Wizard Scout Richard Shepard is unwillingly sent to the magic dimension a hundred and fifty thousand years in the past by a mysterious entity known only as ‘the One.’ This is a time before the elves on the planet Portalis knew magic. It is a time when Portalis is being invaded by aliens equipped with starships, fighter aircraft, drones, and heavy armor. The aliens quickly conquer the human lands and now use their human subjects as mercenaries in an attempt to subdue the entire planet. Only the elves and a few dwarves and gnomes are left to resist.
It is up to Rick and his battle computer Nick to somehow organize the elves and their allies to defend their lands and send the aliens back where they came from. The question is how can elves armed with bows and spears defeat an enemy equipped with tanks, aircraft, and advanced magic-based weapons? Somehow Rick and Nick must find a way. Added to their dilemma is the fact elves during this time dislike humans; and Rick is a human. Why ‘the One’ chose to send him to lead the elves is a mystery, but lead them to victory Rick must if he is to have any hope of returning home to his own time.
Can even a wizard scout snatch victory from the jaws of defeat? Can the elves and their allies be saved? Somehow Rick must find a way to shield the elves and their lands. Somehow he must become: The Shield of the Ancients.
