The Forerunner Moon
(2026)(The third book in the Undercover Starship series)
A novel by Vaughn Heppner
John Tanner joins the few and the proud, officially becoming a Galactic Patrol lawman. His first assignment is an easy one: escort a deposed princess to her primitive homeworld, put her back on her throne and arrest the imposter.
They even give him a battle bot for the barbarians of the world. What could go wrong?
Then the princess and her retainers turn out to be the rudest people John has ever met.
The truth is that the mission is rigged, as someone needs a fall guy, and he's been chosen.
Except… John finds a thread to a sinister cabal who kill high officials and put imposter mechs in their place. The thread runs to an ancient Forerunner vault on a dead moon—and to a coronation that will cost the princess her life.
The problem is he likely won't be alive long enough to stop it.
Genre: Science Fiction
