Cornerstone – a tale of interstellar conflict, set in the distant future.
The Human Confederation is at war with a technologically advanced alien species known as the Sagh’eld. It’s a war that humanity seems destined to lose.
Following a bruising encounter with an enemy destroyer, Captain William Lanson’s warship – Gallivant – is on the brink of failure. Seeking refuge and repairs, he sets a course for the closest military facility. The place he finds – Cornerstone - is shrouded in secrecy. Upon landing, Lanson, his crew, and the squad of soldiers he has onboard, are isolated from the rest of the base.
When the Sagh’eld launch a surprise attack on Cornerstone using overwhelming force, Lanson and the personnel from the Gallivant are among the few survivors. Lanson soon discovers that the enemy has come to steal the mysterious Galos device – a device which is now lost somewhere within the base. It’s imperative they do not succeed.
While Lanson and his crew attempt to fight their way to a modified warship hidden in an underground bay, Sergeant Evander Gabriel and his squad of heavily armed soldiers must recover the Galos. Gabriel has already lost his two brothers in the war, and he’s determined he won’t follow them along the same road. However, an Ex’Kaminar battleship is positioned over the base, watching everything. Evading its sensors will test Gabriel and his squad to their very limits.
The Galos device promises both death and salvation. Somehow, Lanson and Gabriel must figure out how to harness its power. Perhaps, it might be the key to accomplishing the impossible. There’s nothing in the Human Confederation fleet which can hope to stand against an Ex’Kaminar battleship, but defeating the enemy vessel is the only way to achieve victory…
Cornerstone is the first book in the new Singularities series. Within its pages a reader will find space and ground warfare, good guys and bad aliens, plus some additional mysterious and deadly tech.
