An Orphan's Return

(2021)
A novel by

Annie and her little sister, Bessie, can't remember when or how they came to live on the streets. It's just always been like that. Dreams of a home and loving parents are far fetched, and something they only save for the deepest corners in their minds.

Presuming that their parents just didn't want them anymore, and struggling to survive from one day to the next, Annie does whatever she can to keep Bessie safe. So when another young girl, injured and lost, stumble upon them, it is only natural for Annie to take this newcomer under her wing, too. But life isn't kind to young girls with no home and nowhere to turn.

When a dashing young man buys a bunch of half dead flowers from them, it turns into a chance encounter that changes their lives forever. Annie is charmed by him, but surely there's no chance for her to have her feelings returned?

Will Annie, the loving, loyal, protective orphan, ever stay off the streets for good?
