It seems Lorgin is experiencing fluctuations in his Charl powers that Yaniff believes may be an indication that he will experience an increase in his abilities. The tenth level mystic-in-training, Rejar continues to exasperate his Charl Master, Yaniff; who in turn continues to subtly manipulate the brooding Traed into the Charl way of life.
As the Earth holiday of Valentine's Day approaches, Deana is bored with her contented life and looking for a way to stir things up; just for fun. And what better way than to bring her own version of this romantic holiday to the Charl Knights and Familiars of Aviara? Well, Deana may have bitten off more than she bargained for when Lorgin decides to beat her at her own game.
I'm happy to see that our favorite Charls and Familiars haven't lost any of their sexy charm or endearing arrogance. This novella was like catching up with old friends, I had a smile on my face the entire time I was reading. Deana is still her mischievous self and all of the characters that fans have come to know and love make an appearance. This satisfying short will sooth the nerves of even the most addicted Matrix of Destiny reader, and provide just enough fun to hold us over until Ms. Joy gives her loyal readers what they have been dying for, a new release. Welcome back Dara, we have missed your unique voice, and of course your sexy alphas!
