Bride's Abandoned Baby

When Lily Mason made the decision to travel west to become a mail-order bride, she knew her life was about to change. After all, leaving the only home she’d ever known to travel with her young daughter to the western frontier was quite an adventure already. But when fate chooses to leave her another adventure—this time in the form of a helpless, abandoned infant—Lily wonders what else life has in store for her.

Russel Anderson appears to be a kind man, and for that, Lily is grateful. Even though he was not prepared to take on a baby, he agrees with Lily that it should not be abandoned and allows her to keep it. Caring for an unexpected baby is not easy, however, and all too soon, Russel seems frustrated by the situation. How, Lily worries, can she tend to a family, a household, and a new infant all by herself?
