The dragon Herald has been unleashed on the world, intent on obliterating the entirety of humanity, and only Troias has the power and ability to face the terrible beast and survive. To have any chance at defeating the monster, the human race has to band together against it, an unlikely prospect at best when leaders of the nations refuse to accept the threat facing them.
And Herald isn't the only threat the new March of Northern America faces. An enemy led by a shadowy ruler no one can find hovers at their southern border; powerful Awakened Omegas stand against humanity's continued expansion; Luc and the remnants of the Undugu linger at the borders of the March, their intentions unknown.
Troias and Annalise face the deadliest foes they've yet seen in the Shift, but even if they overcome these enemies, one more threat lurks beyond: the Three, keepers of the Source and Herald's ultimate masters, have decided that Troias has to die in the name of the Shift - and they'll stop at nothing, not even the destruction of entire planets, to make that happen.
To face these beings, Troias must become more than he's ever been and risk everything he's gained in the Shift for the good of all mankind...
