The Art of the Post-Apocalyptic Deal
1. Try to slip free of painful clauses. Especially if they’re unbreakable pain collars!
2. Sometimes it pays to enlist professionals. Like expert rogue assassins who might help you slip free of those very clauses if they don’t kill you first!
3. Never be afraid to renegotiate. Best done with a very sharp sword, where you can cut to the beating heart of all future negotiations!
4. Always do your best to come out ahead. Preferably with the head of the monster that was so eager to pain-collar you in the first place!
Eric had to admit that negotiating on his family’s behalf had taken a rather unexpected turn.
One that left him bereft of his armies, his gear, and his sanity, with an indestructible collar around his neck.
Even worse, the only people who can help him have every reason to blame him for being trapped inside a ruptured rift!
Even should Eric survive both collar and maze, he will still be forced to hone himself against ever greater challenges and opponents eager to assure his sister’s defeat and his own extremely painful death.
Unless he can successfully evolve and ascend in a single night, embracing the fires of the phoenix and sweet power beyond his wildest dreams!
Power that could turn him to ash.
Power he was determined to claim at all costs, no matter how steep the price he would eventually be forced to pay.
Eager for a fast-paced adventure with a survivor determined to get the best of everyone trying to kill him? Then read on!
