Murder At the Boston Navy Yard
(2027)(Book 20 in the Massachusetts Cozy Mystery series)
A novel by Andrea Kress
The USS Constitution came home in triumph. The Boston Navy Yard gave her a killer instead.
When a Navy procurement officer turns up dead among the docks, Amanda Halloran starts pulling at the paper trail, contracts, invoices, numbers that don't add up, while her husband, Detective Brendan Halloran, works the waterfront for answers. But the Yard closes ranks fast. Officers trade careful half-truths. Civilians who saw something suddenly remember nothing. The Navy protects its own, and a uniform can close more doors than it opens.
Worse, Brendan's kid brother Sean won't stay away from the ship he loves, and his questions are getting noticed by people who'd rather he stopped asking them. As Amanda and Brendan close in from opposite directions, it's clear someone on the Yard payroll has far more to lose than a job.
Some secrets sink with a ship. This one won't stay under.
