Talos Cord, the globe-trotting U.N. Field Reconnaissance agent, is sent to the South of France to locate and destroy an organisation recruiting mercenaries for an uprising in East Africa. On arrival in Cannes, he discovers the local U.N. agent newly thrown to his death from his apartment window. This is the first in a series of brutal murders, and soon Cord finds that he is the organisation's latest target. He has to stake two lives in a final bid to smash the killers.
