British intelligence officers, Mackenzie and Dalby, are double-crossed by top Nazi generals in a plot to assassinate Hitler. In 1942, when Dalby is captured and sent to Colditz, an assassin breaks in and kills him. There is a war within a war and Churchill thinks Mackenzie is the man for the job.
