John Bekker and Rollie Finch have a great deal in common. Both men are retired police detectives. Both supplement their pensions by working as private detectives. Rollie in New York City. Bekke some six hundred miles to the south.

A long-lost cousin named Ollie Finch, a professional con man and grifter was murdered on the street in Portland. Rollie hadn’t see his cousin in thirty years. Bekker had never see him at all.
Bekker and Rollie discover they are cousins when they meet in Ronald Empire; s for the reading of Ollie’s last will and testament. The shock of finding out they are cousins is quickly outweighed when the will is read and Ollie is offering them two million dollars to find and bring to justice whoever murdered him.
As they get to know each other, Bekker and Rollie discover they have much in common. Both are retired cops and active private investigators. Both are widowers and both have daughters. But the thing that really ties them together is their love of solving crimes with murder as their specialty.
This murder comes with a hefty reward, two million dollars and just as high a risk. It doesn'''t take long for the stakes to raise as whoever killed Ollie targets Bekker and Rollie and both private investigators get far more than they bargained for as their very lives are at risk.
