Gerd, son of nobody, has no idea of who his parents were. The nearest thing he ever had was his master, who is killed, fighting - of all things - a dragon. But apparently his parents gave him a gift anyway, and when he meets Nela he learns what that gift is. And that his destiny is to change the world.
