On my sixteenth birthday, I discovered I was the subject of one of the stories told, the story of the Kiche or the Sky Spirit Goddess. A legend that states that a girl as white as winter’s snow will come to save a nation. That girl is me; a white girl who is an adopted Cree. Since that day, life has been nonstop. Four of my friends were bitten and turned into demons, I discovered my elemental powers of fire and earth, I fought and defeated Kanontsistonties--the demonic Flying Head, I saved my best friend, Celia, from a life as a demon, I defeated Ayam and her brood of ghost witches in the Valley of Blood, and I fell in love with Ayas, a mythical legend known as the Wandering Spirit who is no myth but a gorgeous warrior.
Born with powers she does not understand
After all that, I was hoping for a little downtime, but it won’t be any time soon. The gates to the Netherworld have been opened. and the only way to close them is descend into hell and locate the keys needed to close them. For that, I need training. We need training. Me, Ayas, and Celia. Our training is in the hands of Perseverance—an Amazonian warrior, Freyja—the Nordic Goddess of Love and War, and Kafziel—an archangel who is half angel, half demon. Let’s hope we survive our training because the walls around the Spirit World are weakening.
Must accomplish the impossible
With the gates open, Mingan or Gray Wolf, or whatever you want to call Satan is planning a bid for the throne of Heaven, but if he is to be successful, he needs something from me. I just don’t know what it is. What I do know is that he is gorgeous and keeps tempting me in my dreams. I know if I descend through the mist and into the Netherworld, I need to be strong and not give in to his seduction. It’s a good thing I’ll have Celia with me.
It is said that if I follow the path of my destiny, I am to become a goddess, but right now, I’m just a warrior. One of three along with my wolf, Scout, who must descend beyond the mist into the Netherworld to try to do what Kisemanito—the Creator—says is impossible: find the keys, close the gates, and find our way out of the Hell.
Or, all will perish!
