Wolf Hunting

(2006)
(The fifth book in the Firekeeper Saga series)
A novel by

Still in Liglimon, Firekeeper and her wolf companion Blind Seer respond to a request for assistance from Truth, the soothsayer-jaguar first encountered in Wolf Captured. While helping her, they come across evidence which suggests that someone may have been manipulating various people they+ve already encountered who+ve had an unhealthy interest in ancient magic (a huge taboo in their culture). Further evidence indicates that there are two people somewhere out there who may share this unhealthy interest, and Firekeeper and her friends decide that it is their duty to find out who these people are and what they are doing.Truth knows more than she+s telling. In Wolf Captured, we watched her ability to see and trace future timelines lead her down into madness. But now, the Voice that guided her out of that madness has continued to speak to her-and it+s not her friend. Eventually Truth realizes that her Voice may well be a person the Liglimon call -The Meddler+-in their strongly hierarchical and theocratic view, a dangerous trickster figure. Truth doesn+t fess up to this until the group is too deeply committed to their search to pull out. They+re not happy-Truth is serving as their guide.Compellingly told, rich with real people and real animals, Wolf Hunting is the latest and strongest in an increasingly popular series with broad appeal.
