Trooper Down

Following the tragic destruction of his base mothership and reported killed in combat, seriously wounded Trooper-Third Delmar Eagleman is stranded alone on Panay, a pre-industrial closed planet on the outer edge of Galactic Axia space. His loss tears at the hearts of his friends and family, and rumors of combat incompetence by the mothership commander sends ripples of anger and discontent throughout the ranks of the Galactic Axia Trooper Service. The pending wedding of Stan Shane and Leatha Mordon is postponed while they work through their grief. In the meantime, Delmar finds love in the arms of Abby Henke, an orphan girl on Panay whose situation is almost as desperate as his own.
