When Sara and Butch arrived at her new B&B in the midst of a windstorm, she never expected to be drawn into a murder scene on her first night.
The house had withstood every storm, solid and sure for over eight decades. Sara's Aunt Jane had lived behind it's safe walls since 1988. But the wall was no match for the giant fir tree that smashed into the house. Who would have thought a storm could turn that wall into a showcase for murder.
That particular handwaving skeleton had not put in a showstopping appearance until Sara and Butch arrived to take over the business on a night reminiscent of Halloween.
But who would have access to a silent film star’s vacation home on the Oregon coast? Whoever it was had ability to kill and pose the victim inside of a false wall. That takes time. How long had the skeleton been there?
The old actor was said to be an odd duck. Did he hide his worst critic in the wall? Or did the estranged daughter get back at him for abandoning her? Twenty oceanfront acres on the Oregon coast could be hers. Had she killed her father to get the inheritance? Or was it the local antique dealer who had stripped the derelict mansion of much of its finery before Aunt Jane's husband Jeffery bought it for her?
Despite the age of the skeleton, someone still knew what was going on and Sara had landed right in the middle of it.
Between threats and break ins, she would have to figure this out fast, or as the note had said, you may end up in the wall next to him.
