Chet and Ezra were taking a casual trail to Devil's Fork when they rode into trouble. They were too late to prevent mine-owner Frank Bennett being gunned down by two men, but they promised the dying man to look after his daughter, Jane. There were more tricky trails to ride in the battle with Flint Randell, a rogue with many hard-case sidekicks, who wanted to take over Jane's gold-mining claim.
Randell, the skunk, tried to abduct Jane and force her to marry him. Chet always stood in the way of a hell-bent man's ambitions. Ezra Blain, his old pard, fast with a gun in spite of his age (something he would never admit to) backed him all the way...
