When Sadie Jutzi returns to the Amish community around Christmas time after living outside of it with her Englischer husband, will she be able to adapt to the way of life in the community again? Now divorced with a baby on the way, Sadie has a lot of figuring out to do. Just arriving in a taxi from the city make a lot of people stare when she arrives back in the community.
One thing Sadie doesn't expect to find on her return to the community is a chance at love again. But there is that possibility with a man that she formerly courted named Leroy Springer. But to complicate matters, Sadie is unsure of whether or not she's going to keep the baby when it is born.
Sadie feels extremely embarrassed when her ex-husband Quinten Jacobson appears in the community. And he doesn't come quietly. He comes into town driving his vehicle too fast and honking his horn. Sadie's encounters with Quinten require interventions from her father Mervin Jutzi and from her friend Leroy.
